GHA NEW BUILD

A New Beginnining - New Build for Barmulloch

Work commenced on 7th January 2008 on GHA’s new build programme at Rye Road. There will be 135 new homes built with 2 and 3 bedroom properties being constructed.

Handover will be on a phased basis with the first completed new build homes expected to be handed over in October 08.

Unity Homes committee worked with GHA's new build team on the specification and design of the properties and were also involved in the rigorous procurement process based on the criteria of price and quality.

This resulted in the building contract being awarded to CCG (Scotland) Ltd in December. As part of the contract, 12 apprentices are being recruited by CCG from the local area to work on the project over the course of the 18-month build, alongside a further 18 new recruits from other parts of the city.

Over the last few years local people have only seen new build private sector housing in this area which for many is beyond there means and we look forward to seeing our area being revitalised with this development and hope the new tenants enjoy their fantastic new homes
